His mother passed away from an undiagnosed illness when he was a baby, while his father left to start a new family soon afterwards. His grandmother takes care of them and depends on his grandfather, Abul, who drives a van to provide for the family.

Opu lives in a small village of Panchagarh with his parents. His father is mentally challenged from birth and is unable to work. His mother, Sriti, takes care of him and works in nearby houses to provide for the family.

Only students who are currently enrolled in Government Primary Schools and fall under any
of the following criteria are eligible to apply
for scholarships

Disabled Father

Student's father is physically unable to work

Single Mother

Student's father is deceased or has abandoned the family

Orphan

Both parents are deceased or have abandoned the child
